FAST shampoo and conditioner test – week 1

I’ve just starting using FAST shampoo and conditioner, so I thought I would upload weekly updates to see whether the product actually increased hair length. I’ve taken a picture in between each hair wash, I wash my hair every other day, this week there are 4 pictures. I’ve realised these pictures aren’t really an accurate way to show hair growth, because my hair looks different lengths in the pictures depending on angle etc, so next week I’ll try taking pictures with a ruler to see if that helps.

They are numbered 1-4 in the order that I took them 🙂

Eye makeup looks

I have been playing around with my naked 2 palette and thought I’d upload 10 looks for you to see. I have down turned, hooded almond eyes, so if you like any of the eye looks and your eyes are that shape, chances are you’ll like them on you too. (Side note: I realise how badly my eyebrows need threading sorry but I really wanted to upload these)

So for day one I used chopper with busted in the crease and the outer corner under my eye and chopper on the middle under my eye. On day two I put suspect on my lid with snakebite in the crease and lined my eyes above and under with busted. Day three I used bootycall on my lid with busted in my crease and tease blended over the crease line. On day four I used 3 colours on my lid: bootycall on the inner corner, half baked in the middle, then chopper in the outer corner. I then blended tease on my crease. For day five I tried a cat eye look (with my soap&glory supercat), but I feel it just highlighted my uneven eyes that day. I used bootycall with tease blended over the crease and snakebite in the corner of the crease as well as lining the corner under my eye. On day six I used blackout to line my eyes and blended a little bit of busted through it too. For day seven I used tease on my lid and snakebite in the crease. On day eight I put chopper on my lid and used ydk in the crease with a little bit of busted in the crease and under my eye. For day nine I used foxy and half baked on my lid with tease in the crease and corner. On day ten I put bootycall and half baked on my lid with suspect and snakebite in the crease. I also put snakebite under my eye.

Spring haul

I’ve done a little bit of shopping at river island and new look lately and thought I’d show you what I bought 🙂 An added bonus was that when I got to the till I found out they were having a double student discount week, so I got 20% off in river island whoop whoop!

Left to right top row:
River island £24 (£19.20 with my double student discount)
New look £6.99 (-0.70 with student discount)
New look £12.99 (-1.30 SD)

Left to right bottom row:
New look £19.99 (-2.00 SD)
River island £16 (£12.80 DSD)
River island £20 (£16 DSD)

I also bought a pair of black boots from new look as my old ones grips have worn away and I kept falling over in them haha I got them from the “915 generation” section i.e the teens section so they were only £19.99 and I got 10% off too.

All of my purchases look great with high waisted black jeans, so it’s quite convenient when I’m running late in the morning (which is most days) that I can just pull on my black jeans grab one of these tops and go. All the new look stuff has been worn quite a lot as I bought it like a month ago, but the river island stuff was bought last week and I’ve still not worn the cream lacy one.

My favourite purchase from new look was definitely the black cardigan, I fell in love with it immediately and just had to have it. An added bonus was that despite it being a regular size 8, it was actually long enough for my arms! So any tall girls out there that like this, it will actually fit you. My favourite purchase from river island was the patterned top, also love at first sight, I wasn’t 100% sure about it but knew I had to try it on and I love it.

  • In this picture, I included a few items I wanted from river island but didn’t get. The top one I didn’t get because it actually looked horrible on, pre-warning it’s see through. The 2nd and 3rd I didn’t get because I didn’t want to spend too much and they didn’t make it in to the top 3 but I still think they are both really cute. I also liked a grey short sleeved slightly cropped jumper but I couldn’t find it on the website to show you.

P.s I’m sure you can tell from the state of them that I pulled a couple of items out of the laundry basket so they look really crumpled..sorry..

Tall girl struggles and tips

I’m 5’9″ almost 5’10” (about 1.76m), so I struggle finding clothes to fit me. Until recently I didn’t realise I was tall, so I was buying clothes in the regular section and expecting them to fit.. My main issue is hemlines as my legs are long in relation to the rest of my body, which can leave skirts looking a bit too short and trousers skimming my ankles. Luckily I have a short body, so short sleeved tops aren’t much of an issue, but I have long arms so long sleeved tops are never long enough. Anyway this has lead me to check out the options available for tall people, and I have to say they’re very limited! There are so many nice clothes available in petite but not in tall. For example Miss Selfridge and Topshop have loads of pretty petite clothes. I have to admit, Topshop does sell tall clothes also but the range is nowhere near as good as the petite range. I have found Topshop to be a great place for buying tall jeans though (TIP). Very, Long Tall Sally, Gap and now Next sell tall clothes, however I have found them to aimed at a slightly older clientele.. New look can be hit or miss to be honest..a few things I have bought from there that are supposedly tall we’re not long enough and I’m on the shorter side of tall. Dorothy Perkins has some more young adult options, however their collection is quite limited.. I researched tall clothing and found tallgirls.co.uk and they had a couple of nice things but nothing caught my eye.. Overall shopping when you’re tall is pretty hard, but I hope my experiences saved some of you buying too short clothes and gave you a few ideas of where to shop.

Oily skin foundation advice

I am trying to find the perfect foundation for my skin and wondered if anyone had any advice. I heard that revlon colour stay was good for oily skin, but it did not sit well on my skin at all. I looked up which foundations were good for oily skin ( as seen in the pictures below), if any of you have tried them giving me a review would be really helpful 🙂 I’m a bit skeptical on the selection as “hello flawless – benefit” was in there and that is the oiliest foundation I have ever worn, it makes my skin look sweaty/ oily instantly! Any advice would be great, thanks 🙂

Shampoo Review

Toni & Guy cleanse shampoo and nourish conditioner for blonde hair – No noticeable difference, but does have a lasting scent.

Lee Stafford bleach blondes shampoo and conditioner – This also has a lasting scent and no noticeable difference.

Dove intensive repair shampoo and conditioner – I love this shampoo! It makes my hair feel super clean and it lasts an extra couple of days without a wash.

Herbal essences hello hydration shampoo and conditioner – I am not a fan of herbal essences as it makes my hair really greasy. It smells really good though.

Organix Brazilian keratin therapy shampoo and conditioner – My hair definitely feels softer after using this shampoo.

Tigi s factor smoothing shampoo & conditioner and serious conditioner – I like this collection, I think it does improve the condition of my hair. However once dry, I don’t think my hair smells of anything..I’d prefer a shampoo that left my hair smelling really nice.

L’Oreal Elvive fibrology thickening shampoo and conditioner – I love the way my hair smells after using this shampoo. I’ve only used it a couple of times and haven’t noticed a difference yet, but I think you’re meant to use it everyday..whereas I wash my hair every couple of days and alternate between shampoos.
